Highways England has commissioned a project to look at the potential value of using Connected and Autonomous Plant (CAP) on construction sites. Attached is a flyer with a short summary of the project which also gives background and purpose. An ultimate goal of the commission is to develop a “roadmap” with industry stakeholders. The target is to have a CAP roadmap by mid-2020.
In order to develop this roadmap we are seeking to gather a broad range of opinions and perspectives on the subject from all sectors which includes academics, small medium sized enterprises and those not necessarily associated with construction. Capturing your views will be done through completing a short survey which can be found here, it should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Responses will be collated by Transport Research Laboratory who have the task of supporting Highways England.
The survey is now open and will close on 09 August 2019 with responses received forming part of the initial findings.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in taking part, please feel free to forward this email to them. To give a full prospective we are happy to have multiple representatives from the same organisation taking part in the survey and as such apologise if you have received this email from multiple sources.
If you have any additional queries, please feel free to send them to CAP@trl.co.uk
